General

  • Students shall always bring the college Identity Card to the college and show them as and when demanded by the Principal, teachers and office staff.
  • Students shall not participate in actions that are offensive to good and are dis-service to succeeding generations of students of the college.
  • Students shall not enter class rooms other than their own.
  • Students must maintain strict discipline on the campus. They shall behave with dignity and courtesy to the Principal, faculty members, administrative staff, visitors and fellow students.
  • The students shall wear clean, tidy and formal dresses. They shall wear dress suiting to the social and cultural traditions avoiding any vulgarity under the guise of fashion. 
  • Students shall keep the campus and the class rooms clean and tidy. They shall desist from disfiguring the classrooms, walls, furniture, doors windows etc. No writings are allowed on compound walls of the college and of neighboring buildings.
  • Political activities and the functioning of student organizations are strictly prohibited on the campus. Processions, unofficial meetings, strikes, demonstrations, agitations, and fund collection, uttering slogans-such activities are strictly banned inside the college premises. Student who violate the above rules are liable to be dismissed from the college summarily.
  • Banners, flags, posters, boards, notices, pamphlets etc. shall not be allowed inside the campus or at the gates for purpose of any activity without the permission of the principal.
  • During any official meetings conducted in the college, strict discipline must be maintained. When a meeting is in progress, no student is allowed to leave the hall/pavilion before the close of the same.
  • No meeting or entertainment will be organized nor shall any fund be collected in the college without the permission of the principal.
  • Mobile phones, cinematic dance and fashion show shall not be allowed inside the college campus. Violating these rules will meet with disciplinary action. On the basis of the orders issued by various authorities including the Hon'ble High court of Kerala [WP (c) 23377/09] the use of mobile phones in the college campus is strictly prohibited. A fine of Rs. 500/- will be imposed on those who violate this rule. Mobile phones with camera will be confiscated. A surprise inspection squad is formed to implement the rule.
  • Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited. Whenever a crime of offence is committed in the name of ragging, the Principal will report the matters to the nearest Police Station. Appropriate disciplinary action will be taken against the culprits as per rules in force
  • Students who are charged in criminal offence and are under suspension shall not be allowed to enter the campus without permission
  • Students shall not organize or go on to picnic or excursion without getting the explicit permission from the Principal.
  • The Principal shall have the power to inflict the following punishment: fine, loss of attendance, loss of term certificate, suspension, compulsory issue of TC and expulsion.
  • The Principal has the right to deny admission to any student at his own discretion, if it appears in his opinion that his/her admission may damage the peaceful atmosphere on the campus.
  • Promotion to a higher class, selection for University examinations and issue of progress, attendance and conduct certificates are matters absolutely within the discretion of the Principal and no appeal shall lay against the principal's decision to any other authority
  • If the fees and fine of an installment are not paid before the last date, the name of the student will be removed from the rolls of the college. If the student is to be readmitted he/she has to remit all the arrears of fees with fine and Rs 50/- as admission fee.
  • The college management and the Principal shall take appropriate measures to insulate the college campus from political activism and external intervention, to safeguard the interests of students, academic community, parents and general public. Students and staff shall co-oporate with all such measures including the mode of college union elections as decided by the college management and courts from time to time.
  • The Principal shall have the right to issue transfer certificate to a student admitted to the college without an application from the student or the guardian at any time during the course of his/her study in the college.
  • The Principal or other duly constituted college authorities may frame and issue from time to time the disciplinary rules of permanent or temporary character regarding the conduct of students within and outside the college with a view to maintaining the credit and reputation of the college and the hostels.
  • Students are always welcome to approach the Principal and any member of the staff for any help connected with the academic matters or otherwise.
  • A student who has complaint against the other students, teaching staff or the non teaching staff shall represent the same either in writing or orally to the Principal directly or to the tutors or to the department heads or to the disciplinary committee. Such representation can be made, if necessary, by the parents/guardian of the students
  • There shall not be any discrimination against any community or category of students of the college and immediate stringent action will be taken against the erring officials / faculty members.

Library Rules

  • All students of the college are members of the library.
  • Strict silence should be observed in the library and its premises.
  • Personal belongings like books, bags, umbrellas. files, etc.. should not be taken inside the library.
  • They are entitled to borrow books on the production of borrower's card which can be purchased from the college library. They shall be returned at the end of the year.
  • Loss of the cards must be reported immediately to the librarian. A fine will be levied for each card lost. The library member will be held responsible for the lost cards originally issued to him.
  • Books shall be issued from/returned to the library at time and in the manner notified by the library from time to time.
  • The number of books issued to a degree student at a time will be one.
  • No member shall keep a book for more than a fortnight. Book may be reissued to the same student if there is no other applicant for it.
  • Reference books will not be issued to any member including teachers and non-teaching staff.
  • Students may use book reservation facility for getting the books of their choice.
  • Absence from the college will not be admitted as an excuse for delay in returning books.
  • The librarian may recall a book at any time even when the normal period of loan is not over.
  • Members shall not sub lend the books of the library.
  • Members shall replace books lost or pay for them as per the price to be fixed by the principal.
  • If the date on which a book is due to be returned falls on a holiday, it shall be returned on the next working day.
  • Research scholars registered for Ph. D programme of various universities under the supervision of the principal are members of the library.
  • All staff members of the college are members of the library. A member of the teaching staff may borrow up to five books at a time. The rule relating to the returning of books in a fortnight does not ordinarily apply to them in the matter of subject books, but in the case of general books they shall not keep a book for more than a month. A member of the nonteaching staff may borrow two books at a time and they shall not keep a book for more than a month.A fine of Rs 2/- per day will be levied if a book is detained beyond a fortnight.
